Hey Partner, check this out! We’ve just heard from Jeff in Surabaya where they’ve run their first-ever MA ministry. As you may recall, YWAM Vancouver has made a long-term commitment to see MA launched in this incredible nation. Back in ’08, a group of us went over there to run a training seminar. We met Jeff and a number of others who dreamed of pioneering a mission-sending movement among young people. After several tries, we are seeing a breakthrough. Jeff sent us this report:

Thanks for praying for us here—it’s really good to have MA running here in Surabaya-Indonesia.  We have canceled this program twice because of several things, but this year we are finally running it. Hallelujah !

We had about 32 participants. Most of them are from several schools here in Surabaya. Our theme for this year is Burn-Set the World on Fire. During the training camp, the kids were really touched by the Holy Spirit through the sessions and by the Passion Play drama and the commitment service. One of the 17 year-old kids gave a testimony during camp. He had planned to find the right time to go smoke cigarettes. But during the commitment service he repented because God showed him about all his sins. He could not believe that God would speak to him. He became brave in giving his testimony and was very diligent to start every day with quiet time. 

We have a few project for outreach in the village. We cleaned the roads, made a drainage to help the water not come to the road, and we painted the school. The people in the village really were amazed with what this MA team did. Most of the kids are from rich families but they were willing to work in dirty places. We went house by house in the village and the kids starting to share JC to the other through a colour ring that we taught them how to share about Sin until resurrection and heaven. We even saw a few village kids using the ring and we keep praying that they will remember always the story have been told about the TRUTH.

In the evening we had a christian gathering in small church and the kids to prayed for sick people and they saw the sick were healed in JC name! It was a great time to see how this generation doing this kind of activities, we were really encouraged by what God did through the kids.

After this MA, the owner of christian school heard about what happenned because his kids joined the camp. He asked us to run the MA only for their kids this coming October. They have about 200 kids, so we are excited but we are praying for what Gods want to do with this opportunity.

We believe that there is a new wave of young people coming in this generation. No matter what we will face in the future, we pray that we will have this MA here in Surabaya, Indonesia every year—until we see His Glory revealed in this nation as water cover the seas!
