Ensenada, Mexico
YWAM San Diego/Baja |
Monday, August 16, 2010 at 4:00PM
Each year thousands of people from all over Mexico and Central America move into the Northern Baja region. Many are poor indigenous Native peoples who have migrated to work in the fertile farms and fields located in the Baja. Attending groups will minister in the Ensenada area.
This trip is designed for groups who desire a greater challenge and want to venture further south into the Baja. Your team will be hosted by Youth With A Mission staff who will provide outreach contacts and evangelistic opportunities through networking with various local churches and Christian ministries.
YWAM Ensenada base is nestled on the coast of Baja Mexico just an hour and a half south of the US border.
TESITMONY TIME:
As a youth pastor, I’m always looking for great summer opportunities for my youth. YWAM Ensenada is an incredibly well-run short-term missions program. The staff is experienced and enthusiastic. Best of all, the leadership has an excellent relationship with the community. The base is beautiful and the location could not be better, with the beach within shouting distance. Activities such as high places prayer (where we beseech God while overlooking the city) and the favela outreach are very impactful. Mission Adventures in Ensenada opened our eyes to the work of God in a different culture. - Fred Mok, Youth Pastor at Chinese Church in Christ South Valley.

Ministry Options:
Evangelism (no additional costs): This would include children’s ministry, youth ministry and adult ministry. You would be working with local ministries in the colonias (neighborhoods) as well as the ministries that we have through YWAM. This would be set up with the outreach leaders after you complete the registration process. This can include ministries such as homeless, red-light, orphanages, soup kitchens, jail, etc.
Building (this is an addition cost of $5700 with an option to provide furniture at an additional $1450): This house building experience takes place over 2-3 days. The cost of the house ($5700) includes all the materials necessary for your team to build our 16’x20’ structure. Each house has a concrete floor (poured and waiting for you when you arrive), wood siding, 3 windows, a dividing wall creating 2 living spaces, and is completely wired for electricity. The optional furniture/housewarming kit (additional $1450) includes a table and 4 chairs with place setting for 4, propane stove with full tank, basic kitchen supplies & serving-ware, bunk bed (double on bottom, twin on top) with all bedding, curtains for the 3 windows, and various tools, rugs and other housewarming items. If you choose to build a house, you will still participate in some evangelism-type ministries on the days that you are not building.
